The main difference between my homegrown basil and store-bought basil was texture. My basil was still packed with flavor, but somehow the leaves seemed thinner and crisper. I'm not sure if later on it will develop a deeper, earthier flavor/texture, but I hope it does. It wasn't bad, it was just different. Although, I don't think Raquel could tell the difference, because she had three plates full.
"Jog in Ocean" is primarily about my half-marathon training (it's also an anagram of my name). But, there will be the occasional post about surfing, volleyball, or any other cross-training that I get myself into. I'm an early 30's novice runner in San Francisco with five half-marathons under my belt. I hope this blog will inspire, give tips, or in the least entertain.
Actually, I'm surprised. If you're going to show off basil, I would've assumed that you'd make Pesto.
ReplyDeleteI will. But, this was only a pruning not a harvest. So, I didn't have enough to make pesto. I only had a few clippings.
